Terms of Service

Formshift provides three document conversion services: Markdown to PDF, any format to Markdown, and any format to PDF.

Sign-in is available only via Google accounts. You must meet the legal age of contractual capacity in your jurisdiction; minors require guardian consent.

Free tier: every account receives 5 free conversions, shared across all three conversion types (not 5 per type).

Paid credit packs: Starter — $5 for 20 credits; Pro — $10 for 50 credits. Credits do not expire.

Deduction order: free credits are consumed first; paid credits are only used once the free allowance is exhausted. A request cannot be submitted once both are exhausted.

Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. Card details are collected directly by Stripe and never pass through Formshift’s own servers.

Failed conversions: the credit consumed is refunded to your account automatically — no need to contact support.

Monetary refunds: there is currently no self-service refund flow; contact us via our Contact page and it will be handled manually. A refund does not guarantee recovery of credits already consumed (used credits are treated as services already rendered).

(Pending legal review) Whether Taiwan’s Consumer Protection Act cooling-off period for distance transactions applies to — or is excluded for — a digital service that is fulfilled immediately upon delivery needs precise legal language before it can be stated here.

Uploaded source files and converted result files are retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted automatically.

The md-to-pdf content limit is 20MB; the to-markdown/to-pdf upload limit is 500MB.

You are responsible for the legality and copyright status of any content you upload.

Uploading illegal, infringing, or malicious content (including attempts to attack the service itself) is prohibited.

Abusing free credits via automation or the creation of multiple accounts is prohibited.

Formshift reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that conversion results are always accurate or that the service is uninterrupted. We are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the service (final wording requires standard disclaimer language from counsel).

Formshift reserves the right to modify these terms and pricing. Material changes will be announced in advance.

These terms are provisionally governed by the laws of Taiwan (the service is currently operated by an individual; the jurisdiction clause may need revisiting once formal company registration is complete).
